Community Education sub-committee
meets
every second Tuesday of the month, 4:00 PM at the Unitarian
Universalist Church, 5654 Ralston
The Community Education Subcommittee addresses Recommendation #13 of
the
"10-Year Strategy to End Homelessness for Ventura" by
implementing "an education campaign to make the community aware of
the findings, guiding principles, goals, and recommendations" of the
strategy. We
focus on:

educating the
community about those who are homeless or are at risk of becoming
homeless, by
-
speaking to groups
throughout the City
-
creating and
distributing educational materials
-
sharing information
about available resources
-
shifting community
perceptions of those who are homeless
-
supporting the
communication needs of other VSSTF subcommittees
-
remaining alert for
opportunities to educate members of the VSSTF on events and issues
that may impact the
"10-Year Strategy to End Homelessness for
Ventura."
